What a great idea!  Police departments are using social networking sites and mobile technologies to enlist your help in the fight against crime.  Participating communities are using SMS messaging, Facebook, and Twitter as resources for reporting crime and alerting the public on safety issues.  Check the CitizenObserver for more details or here to see if your community participates in the various programs being offered.  Some examples include signing up for Watch Groups, text message alerts and news releases.
